He rides this train

Johnny Cash rides this train across the country
singing about the people of the earth.

In the middle of his music is a cowboy dressed in black
telling tales of his country's western birth.

He rides this train across the plain
says, "Hello" and tells you of your worth.

Sings of the Indian hero Ira Hayes
and how General Custer got his due.

Tells of outlaw lives out on the plains
and makes us feel like we're in his crew.

Wears black to let us know everything's not fine.
Then cracks us up, 'bout a boy named sue.

Smiles when he sings, and we don't mind
'cause Johnny rides this train and walks the line too.

and remember this for sure, don't make no jokes
'bout Mister Johnny Cash

'cause he'll always ride this train.
