- Cowboy Christmas
Light
-
- Twinkling stars overhead seemed to
whisper
- a tune that Mike heard every
year.
-
- Standing next to his horse he
remembered
- it was one about Christmas
cheer.
-
- Shiverin' some 'gainst the
cold
- took a pull on his hat, and looked
East.
-
- There years ago he had sat
- on his kid's bunk, awaitin' the
feast.
-
- Sights, sounds and food
- home made by his family each
Christmas.
-
- Tamales, tinsel and
laughter
- an' old granny makin' a
fuss.
-
- Then he turned to the west
- and boarded his mount.
-
- The bag he held was nigh
heavy
- with gifts he knew would sure
count.
-
- Something each could hold
onto
- as they gazed at a star in the
night
-
- guiding them into the new
year
- like a Cowboy Christmas
light.
