Cowboy Art

I don't care if its a picture postcard or a calendar on a wall
you can put a western icon on my favorite cereal
as long as cowboy art is somewhere, even at the mall.

Charlie Russell, or Will James, or artists I've never seen.
Slap a picture on the cover of a famous magazine.

Plastic toys that look like cowboys, red or green or blue
a symbol of the west done in any earthly hue

from exclusive canvas on a wall, to some old bent horseshoe.
A wrapper on a burger or a license plate for you.

Cowboy art is all around us, always catching my attention.
An artist put it on that thing we see with the intention
of telling us that "Cowboy" is a cultural inspiration.
